ALMOST TIME FOR NEW BABIES!!

IT won’t be long now!! Big belly and uncomfortable girl :( I feel bad for her but I can’t wait to see who we get!! It seems like forever since I’ve had tiny pups!! Nicole will be my constant companion from now on! Since Lexie had her babies 4 days early I don’t trust babies to come on the due date (98% do) BUT then Lexie had 11 nice size babies packed in there and no more room! I just didn’t expect them on the seat of the truck (obviously). We had taken two pups to South Haven to start their new lives and headed towards Grand Rapids to do some shopping. Lexie had exhibited no typical signs of impending birth so I was ASTOUNDED to glance back at her to see a pup (Rocket) still in the sac squirming next to her. She was casually looking out the window as oblivious as if she had simply passed gas. I SCREAMED IN SURPRISE (Tom about went off the road and was grabbing his chest and swearing) grabbed Rocket and tore the sac away from his face. I always have towels in the truck so cleaned him up and showed him to Lexie who was clearly disinterested. I no more than got him settled and another baby came, then another. By the time we got home she had 4 babies and STILL showed little interest. New moms can be challenging but once settled into the nursery she was fine and cleaned up the other 7 babies. Funny story, I’m glad most births arn’t that exciting :)
Nicole and I took a car ride today. We are looking for a few acres close to home. The guys said they would fence a couple acres so we could have a PRIVATE DOG PARK (and I’m holding them to it!!) I’m really excited, I need it to be big enough so we can train for dog sled! We can swim in the summer and dog sled in the winter!! FUN FUN FUN!

Big boy Preston!!

Patti Sue and Ruben’s beautiful boy, Preston!! 18 months old!! Here’s what his mom says about her boy Hi Barb – here’s a more recent photo of Preston, our big, beautiful and wonderful poodle!! He’s a silly-head like his dad Ruben – he schemes, plays pranks & makes funny sounds & goofy faces – he cracks us up!! And then he’s compassionate like his mom, Patti Sue – always sniffing for wounds to lick or bandaids to remove (he should go to medical school!). He’s king of the dog park! Loves to play! He’s so big and strong, not to mention agile & smart, always managing to steal whatever toy being played! He takes the toy and all the dogs chase him!! Is so fun to watch! And he’s growing up, lol, I’m impressed with how calm he’s getting, like when we’re going to the park, he knows and waits patiently!! He’s a good boy!! Anyway, hope all’s well with you & your family & all your beautiful dogs and puppies!!!
Cathy Burnside
We love these pupdates!! More Patti and Ruben babies early 2012!! AND NICOLE & ELLIOT BABIES SOON!!!

Here is some pic of Sandy the first pic is halloween pic of her and it taken at pet supplies to benefit Livingston County Animal Shelter. If you go on facebook and look up Livingston County Animal Shelter you can see all the dogs that came and Sandy is up their too. Sandy doing well, loves going to the rehab center and visiting with my mom and all the others that are their. Sandy is the the hit rehab center loved by all. Moose eye AKA Stink eyeLexie is so funny! Tom (son) and Tom (husband) have been hunting all week in Missouri. She loves them both and yips with delight when they come home (two movies below). You can’t help but laugh to see her SO HAPPY they have returned! Her mom Citori and several of her puppies all do this! AFTER her excitement is over and it occurs to her she is annoyed because he left, she will climb up on anyone else’s lap and look over at Tom with what we call is “MOOSE EYE” it’s an out of the corner glance, not a direct look. These dogs sure do provide endless smiles! Click here to see Lexie welcome Tom

Getting a form made for her brace

Today we went to the vet to make a form for Reba’s custom brace. She wasn’t impressed, especially when she had to stand on the leg so I could get a photo for the brace company. I don’t think the wrist hurts, but I do think her foot hurts as the rough black pad is gone from 2 months in the cast. Her pad is shiny and red and looks sore. I put bag balm on it at night with a sock to keep it soft. She may use that foot when the pad gets better. I hope. Two weeks till brand new babies!! I can’t wait to see who we get!! I hope we get a variety of colors but I’m thinking we will get black and white. No matter what color, they will be ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frankie 6 months!

Frankie is such a happy boy!! He had so much fun at the dog park!! He had his “surgery” yesterday and is resting comfortably. Generally these go very well and need to be done HOWEVER every once in awhile there is a opportunity to pull out the stitches that create a huge problem. A cone for a couple days, although a pain- does keep them away from the area. I know of a couple boys that had worked on their stitches during the night and by morning they needed another surgery to fix the damage. Rare but it does happen!! Nicole has 15 days to go! I am SO looking forward to new babies!!

Love the EYES!! haha

October 25, 2011 Kids and POODLES!

A fuzzy place to play!!

These dogs are so amazing, kids crawling all over them and neither one of them even raised their heads. My boys used to drive cars over Tootsie and Sassy Sue who would sleep through being the latest mountain or detour. Poodles really love their kids and feel it is a personal responsibility to guard them. We have decided on a litter theme for Nicole and Elliot’s PARTI BABIES!! 101 Dalmatians!! With APPROVAL from Harlee we have (thank you Marjorie I didn’t know so many of the dalmatian puppies had names)!! GIRLS: Perdita, Jewel, Cinders, Polka, Pickles, Queenie. BOYS: Pongo, Spot, Jake, Chester, Otto, Freckles, Domino, Patch!! We love picking themes but it’s harder than you would think, some of our criteria is at least 5-6 names of each sex. Names the new family may keep, names of LIKEABLE people/things (no Cujo or Snookie). We like themes that people could guess but that not always possible. And lastly we need themes where we haven’t used the names before. VERY FUN!! NO puppy 1, puppy 2 FOR US!! :)

Cheryl and Fiona/Blanche

More fun dog park photo’s!! I love seeing the babies grown/growing up!! Fiona/Blanche and her mom Cheryl and below her big brothers Washington/Fozzie and Bob/Gonzo. I’m sure Joann is looking for Rowlf who was all over the park greeting one and all (and getting muddy) what a funny baby he is!! All’s well here, not so patiently waiting for new babies in 17 days. Reba hopping around still not using her brace but it does give her some protection from someone stepping on her. Seems to have no opinion on it either way. Playing with the human babies yesterday wore me out, they love it when you chase them! Such happy kids!! I can’t believe they will be ONE November 17th! They love the dogs, future socializers!!

Annie/Rigby and Kalvin

Annie/Rigby and Kalvin getting a better view!! Beautiful day to be at the dog park! Today I helped Ted with the babies. At 11 months they are so fun!! I was chasing Chase (crawling away) I’d grab his feet and pull him back to me. CITORI DID NOT LIKE IT!! She charged at me twice for messing with her baby (barking and having a fit). She knows me VERY WELL so I’d hate to think of what she would do to a stranger! Chase loved it so she did calm down (that and I ignored her). I was GLAD to see her protecting them!! Kids are safe in their beds when you have a DOG!!

Fun at the dog park!!

October 22, 2011 Happy Birthday RUBEN!!

Ruben's 8th BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to my BIG BOY (92lbs) Happy Birthday to my BIG BOY (92lbs) He got a liver and yogurt breakfast and bully stick, he’s a happy boy!! I hated to leave him today, but don’t dare bring the boys to the park. I guess that was our last trip, suddenly you can only bring 2 dogs per person and the park called the sheriff to make sure I knew that. Man, better move to that county since the only crime they seem to have is too many dogs at the dog park! TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!!! We had a really nice turn out and weather was WONDERFUL!! Tomorrow I’m making an unplanned trip to Lansing to help babysit!! Can’t wait to see the boys!!

Her sister Pebbles/Rosie got a big girl haircut and she looks SO GROWN UP!! She also looks JUST like her mother POPPY!! Off to the LAKE ORION DOG PARK AT NOON tomorrow. Weather is going to be perfect. The girls will have SO MUCH fun!! In addition to the ride in the POO HAUL they get to run free!! THEY WILL BE HAPPY EXHAUSTED DOGS!!

Reba's brace

Reba doesn’t seem to mind her brace. She doesn’t seem to use it either, sigh. She does seem to enjoy the extra attention she’s getting. Poor little princess :’( her life from here on in, as we have no other options. She will be getting a custom brace, but these companies seem to be part time and slow moving!
Reba and Checkers won’t be coming to the dog park (or the boys), but Lexie will :) Tom has a hunting trip in Missouri so she’ll be here with me all week. Weather looks good and we’re READY TO GO!! Harlee will join me! We are really looking forward to seeing everybody!!

Jubilee/Dalva helping with yard work. She’s a Nicole & Jack baby and very spoiled! Just like we like :) Her mother Nicole has a nice big babies bump, lots of kids in there!! I can’t wait to meet them!! Jack’s half brother Elliot (same mom Jazz) is the dad of this batch! He’s a happy guy, the babies will have great personalities!!

Pebbles/Rosie 13 weeks

WOW does Pebbles/Rosie look like her MOM!! Acts like her too, judging on how she’s beating up her new brother haha! Pat gets such a kick out of this busy baby!! Reba got her cast off yesterday. She has on the generic brace but really isn’t using it. I’m hoping it’s because she had the cast on over 2 months and her muscles are weak. I’m so glad the cast is off, there was moist matted hair between her toes (orthopedic surgeon was worried about that). She was not happy to have her leg/foot shaved (but she never is). I’m disappointed, if she continues to use just her left leg she will ruin her foot with the added weight :’(
The good news is her age, she doesn’t HAVE to be active. Next step is a custom brace. Waiting for the casting material so the vet can send a form to the manufacturer. Sigh, my poor princess :’(

Quincy/Braxton

ADORABLE!! Quincy/Braxton is a Lexie & Jack baby from THE LITTLE EINSTEIN litter! Such a handsome boy!! Jack has some really unique colored babies!! Doesn’t seem to matter who the mom is!! His brother Elliot (same mom, Jazz) can have babies of lots of colors too. Adding red & white like his dad Winston!! I love parti babies, they are so unique all so different!! It’s like CHRISTMAS when they’re born!! Can’t wait to see who Nicole has!! 27 days to wait!!!!

Aiden/Oliver & Cassanoa/Roman

Our pretty boys!! Aiden/Oliver a Patti Sue & Ruben baby and Cassanova/Roman a Francis Claire & Beau baby. They live and play in Wisconsin. We are looking forward to more Patti babies early 2012! Francis babies too since I don’t think we have any this time! Nicole’s babies will keep us busy, going home just in time for Christmas! So exciting, I can’t say I like baby GAPS very boring. I have been moving the litter pictures from the old website to the new website. Takes forever! I’ve been working on the Checkers/Beau 2007 litter all day, the fun part is seeing all the babies again and how Harlee has changed :)

October 15, 2011 Fun visit with the twins!

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Citori and Harlee!

We had so much fun yesterday with the twins, the girls and the poodles. The babies had red ears and runny noses but were in pretty good moods considering they didn’t feel to good. It was very WINDY and rainy this morning so we didn’t go to the park today. We decided to move the trip to next Saturday (or Sunday if the weather is better). It’s just too far to go to have such nasty weather :’( it’s the risk of planning them so far ahead. Maybe Reba can go if she’s settled into her new brace (that I hope comes by then!). So today we are just laying around. Nicole’s baby bump is a full blown belly! WOW she really popped out quick! I’m so excited to see who we get!!

Fun with the babies!

ELMO!!

Reba and Reggie’s baby ELMO!! WOW does he look like Reba!! Even his color! Love seeing our babies grown up!! We are still waiting for Reba’s brace to arrive (today I hope). It’s a one size fits all (sort of) and will work while we have a customer brace made from a cast of her leg. I think she’ll be happy to have that heavy cast off. TODAY Harlee, Andrea and I are going to Lansing to shop and see the twins! Tomorrow the Lake Orion dog park!!

I look like my mom REBA!

One year old!!

More Birthday GIRLS!! AND SO DARN CUTE!!! Here’s what mom Lynne said about her baby!! body
Hi Barb!

We have been so busy I have not written to you in such a long time about our dear Vivian Caldonia. One year ago today my friend Kari sent me a link to your site knowing we were thinking about a Spoo. We were driving to Manhattan to hear a friend of mine play a faculty recital at Kansas State debating another Golden Retriever or a Standard Poodle, we could not decide. I looked up and saw a cloud that looked like a dog with a long pointy nose and as we watched it the top of it poofed up like a topknot and that was it, we decided. I looked your site up on my cell phone and saw that Parris was having her litter. After the recital we stopped somewhere to eat and I checked again and saw that you had two Apricot girls. That was it. I wrote to you the next day (or maybe that night) with our preference for one of the Apricots with a second choice of Black, we could not decide but thought we already had a black Lab so Apricot was first. We spoke that day I think and the deal was done. We have never been happier with a decision. I have written you with all the virtues of this darling girl over the last year. We have been through the bitey phase and the jumping phase and the rebellious phase and quite frankly none of them were terribly serious. Quite a few missing socks and a baseboard chewing, that was the worst of it all and not in a place that anyone would see. She remains a joy, joyful. She is simply an outstanding girl. Your dogs are bred with such care and love, always with concern for the dogs foremost. It shows. Your puppies are cared for with so much love and understanding of the breed. It shows. They are socialized perfectly with the professional help of your social assistant Harley. It shows. We may not be able to make this litter in January but we will be back. We never had a better, more adjustable, fun and sweet dog and we have had a lot of great dogs. By the way, she still prances and it is so cute. Everyone loves her and she loves them back. I think, I hope her life is as perfect as it can be because she deserves it. Attached are two pictures taken on a walk through one of our hay pastures last month. I will get birthday photos to send later. She is loved beyond anything called sane. Lynne Below is Vera/Suki enjoying her birthday dinner, sporting a new fancy collar!! Lisa made this WONDERFUL movie of Suki’s first year! It is SO CLEAR how much they love this dog (brought tears to my eyes) :’( Click here to see Suki’s first, very loved year!

Lillian/Kai, Lisa and Pike, Iris and Donkey/Trek

The Patti Sue & Ruben babies Donkey/Trek and Lillian/Kai are getting so BIG!! Look at those long legs!! EVERY TIME I look on Iris’ Face book page I just crack up! It seems every post is something new Trek has chewed. Melons seems to be his favorite, but handles, hand cream and brushes seem to attract him too. LOL I can’t remember a baby that chewed as much as he does!! I hope it doesn’t rain Saturday :’( looks like that’s the forecast. WE WANT TO GO TO THE DOG PARK!!

Did you want that?

October 10, 2011 Reba’s doctor visit

Monday, October 10th, 2011

Princess Reba Rose

Well I dont know how I feel about the news. I’m sorry she’ll never be good as new but the Orthopedic Surgeon did not think Reba was a good candidate for surgery. What she needs is a total rebuild of her wrist with plates and pins and screws. It is the second most complicated surgery he does (replace hips first). The risk to a dog her age is great. Screws can pull out because in older dog the bone morrow has a lot of fat (not a good anchor). Three quiet months in a plaster cast. He suggested I get her a leg brace that keeps the weight off her wrist, and share the weight with her other front leg. She doesn’t seem to mind the cast so he thought she’d be quiet happy and pain free with that. So I have found a couple on the companies on the internet that make them. The next step is a plaster casting (done by the vet).
I’m so sorry :’( I’m sure it will put a damper on her swimming, but relieved I won’t be putting her life at risk. She is such a trooper. Such a good girl. We will need to work on and orderly method to the get to the lake (which so far has eluded us) :(

Reba Rose La Rouix

We have an early appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon in the morning (In July she raced down to the dock and pulled the tendon in her wrist). I dread this, I know I’m not going to like the choices :( BUT I need to know so we can make a decision on what to do. Thankfully we rarely have a medical issue, I’m nuts when we do :’(
While at WALMART yesterday I got some orange hair spray. Last year I used the permanent orange dog hair dye and it was still in in February!! I couldn’t do any Christmas colors because that darn orange would come through (orange and green, not so good). The other colors don’t last NEARLY that long, so I was really surprised!! So anyway, thought I’d try the hair spray and I love it!! It’s so dark!!
So fun on the parti girls top knots!! AND I’ll be free to do red and green at Christmas! The down side being the dirty look you get after spraying. LOL and be prepared to chase them down for a second application :)

Hair Spray! Really!!

Just one week until we go to the dog park! We are so excited. I hope we have a good turn out but there is a big game that day :( Doesn’t matter the girls will wnjoy the romp!!

October 4, 2011 Happy Birthday Reba Rose

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

My pretty girl is TEN today!

AGH!! I hate birthdays!! Every year puts me closer to a day when I won’t have them :’( I shouldn’t look at it like that but the pain of being without them changes your life. They take a piece of your heart with them. Reba went to the vet today. Her leg is not healing, we need to go see an orthopedic surgeon in Grand Rapids. She has a new cast ORANGE! I’m afraid this isn’t going to be good news at the next vet either :’( my poor princess. She’s ten, I hate to put her through surgery. I’ll try not to worry but fat chance of that!

Patti Sue and Ruben!

What a beautiful pair! Patti sue and Ruben have such wonderful babies!! BIG and great personalities!! We love BIG poodles, bigger bones and a muzzle that is a little on the square side, especially the boys. I got this pupdate on Pearl (Sponge Bob litter). Pearl pick her boy and they have been best friends! body Hi Barb,

I hope this finds you well. Our girl is still doing fabulously. She is loved beyond words. She brightens every day. I laughed so hard when I saw the picture of Ruben with his head on the table AND your descriptions of the way he talks. Pearl does the SAME THING!!! I have to find the pic I have of her with her face on the table. She is still so devoted to Drew. They have a truly special bond. I am worried about both of them… Drew leaves for college this coming August. :( She sleeps next to him every night. I think I’m going to end up with a very big poodle in my bed next year…. LOL!!!

I saw that you plan more puppies from Patti Sue and Ruben in January. I know this is a very hard thing to project, but this is not Patti Sue’s last litter, is it???

Thanks again for our special girl,
Sharilyn
No I hope to have two more AND keep a baby girl from the last litter!!

I DON'T LIKE MY RAIN PONCHO!!

LOL this cracks me up every time I see it! Haha! Baby does not like dress up!! She was very good getting a big girl haircut! What a pretty girl!! I can’t believe how much the babies are like Poppy! Busy VERBAL babies!!
Yesterday I gave Lexie a short haircut (the guys are on a fishing trip and she is here for the weekend) it’s the solution to the problem of her getting off the bed and waking me up with her nails clicking on the pergo. I sleep with the slider cracked open a couple inches and the electric blanket on so if she has short hair she stays on the bed. This morning (it was 39 degree’s)she came over and sat next to me with her teeth chattering, I asked he if she was cold and she followed me to get a sweater. She is the only dog I’ve ever seem who can chatter her teeth at will (she does it after a bath or after swimming in cold water) :D They are ALL so special, so uniquely different!! So ENTERTAINING!!

I got a haircut!

Going to Walmart!!

The dogs LOVE going in the truck! I needed some stuff at Walmart so I loaded up eight of them and off we went. Nicole and Reba were in the back seat. With the addition of Poppy Lucille, I don’t put everybody in small spaces anymore. Poppy challenges Nicole every chance she gets and I am extra careful to make she they are supervised (where I AM the boss!) When we got back most everybody got baths and haircuts! Reba goes back to the vet next week for a check of her leg, she got a trim but not a bath (and needs one!) They all look so pretty!! DOG PARK OCTOBER 15TH Lake Orion at noon!! We can’t wait!!

Wilma loves her life!

She sure looks like a happy girl!! Here’s an update from Stella herself!!
Dear Mom,
I’ve been gone for a couple of weeks now and just wanted you to know that I’m very happy. I’m growing like crazy – I’m 18 pounds! My new humans have a pontoon boat that I can ride on whenever I want and I get a spoonful of ice cream every night before I go to bed. My new brother likes me more and more every day. We play together and share toys, but he doesn’t like it when I lay in his bed.
I’ve only been in trouble a couple of times. Once I pooped in the house and then I pulled a really long thread loose in the rug, but my people are very understanding and tell me it’s good that I’m so darn cute. They tell me I take after my mom and that’s a good thing.
I hope you are enjoying your free time now that us kids are on our own.
Love and kisses, Wilma/Stella
Ozzie better watch out! Mom Poppy Lucille loves to beat up BOYS, just ask BEAU!!

Pretty FIESTA from the parti litter!! I love that Laura kept her name, she’s a happy girl!! This was really her 2 year picture with sister Chloe. I am getting this photo now because SOMEBODY chewed the cord that connects the camera to the computer! This is not Fiesta’s first camera offense. She was caught red handed eating my camera which I’m surprised I thought was so funny considering it was $350. She wasn’t alone in the caper, she had Elliot as an accomplice!!

Clark and Lana

Clark is a Jazz and Ruben baby from the candy litter, he sure has his dad’s face WOW! Lana is Poppy Lucille’s Aunt (Poppy’s mom and Lana are litter mates). I love to see my babies having so much! Happy dogs, although Lana is no fan of the water (Clark makes up for it, his father’s son!). Agh I am bored without babies :’( We are really looking forward to the dog park October 15th (Lake Orion at noon) the girls will love the car ride and seeing their babies! I wish the boys could go, but it’s just too risky. Should be cooler so they will have a fun day!

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

If you don't want that pie, I'll have it.

This dog is so entertaining, he points with his eyes and has a hysterical dragged out moan that is like a kid whining. His babies inherit his fun personality. He’s a 92 lbs GOOF!! Loves everything and everybody. But can be a fierce defender if I appear nervous. I saw that one day when a guy knocked on the door asking to borrow jumper cables. He had been working down at a neighbors house and left his lights on. We live on a dead end road and at the time we were the only ones here on weekdays, so I don’t like opening my door to just anyone (I watch too many murder shows). Ruben went outside with me and if curly hair can stand on end his did. The guy never took his eyes off that dog who was plastered to my leg. I felt very safe with my big protector!! The guy couldn’t wait to get away from us :) Ruben is all my beloved pets rolled into one. I had his mother Maggie (who I lost June 6) his dad Beemer, his grandma Lily, his great grandma Sassy Sue, and his great great grandma Tootsie. Twenty eight years of wonderful pets :’(

Patti Sue keeps everybody's eyes clean!

Patti Sue is just so sweet. I hope to keep a puppy from her last litter with Ruben :) I know I will be facing a house full of old dogs, but I couldn’t part with anyone-ever. I was happy to find this updated age chart rather than the 7 human years=1 dog year.
5 month old dog would be 10 years old if they were human
8 month old dog = 13 year old human
10 month old dog = 14 year old human
1 year old dog = 15 year old human
2 year old dog = 24 year old human
3 year old dog = 28 year old human
4 year old dog = 32 year old human
5 year old dog = 36 year old human
6 year old dog = 40 year old human
7 year old dog = 44 year old human
8 year old dog = 48 year old human
9 year old dog = 52 year old human
10 year old dog = 56 year old human
11 year old dog = 60 year old human
12 year old dog = 64 year old human
13 year old dog = 68 year old human
14 year old dog = 72 year old human
15 year old dog = 76 year old human
16 year old dog = 80 year old human
17 year old dog = 84 year old human
18 year old dog = 88 year old human
19 year old dog = 89 year old human
20 year old dog = 93 year old human
I was looking at dog ad’s yesterday and found a 5 year old girl for $100. They were DONE with her!! Made me ILL! This is the same breeder that told me she loves to retire her dogs because then they will be loved :’( SEE WHY I WON’T ALLOW MY BABIES TO GO TO “BREEDERS”!!
They don’t see their dogs as pets, poor things. I just looked and she is gone hopefully she will get a second chance for love!

September 26, 2011 Visit with the twins!

Ted, Citori, Trisha, Harlee and Izzie. Max and Chase 10 months old.

Harlee and I went to Lansing today to visit Trisha, Ted, the babies and the poodles. Harlee wore her kitty mask and the babies were pretty fascinated by it, they chased her in their walkers/bumper cars and all three had a fun time. When we got there Citori was so excited she was leaping and yipping something that daughter Lexie and granddaughter Annie/Rigby do when they are REALLY happy to see you. It is so fun to see what passes down (Jazz, Citori’s mother doesn’t do it) my favorite part I think. Genetics are very interesting! Right now we are trying to decide our best route to red & white parti babies. What we do next will depend on what colors Elliot and Nicole have!! Very fun!!

You didn't tell us you were getting a cat!

LOL they were very interested in the new kitty! Harlee laughed at all the interest:) She loves costumes, and wore it to the post office as we entered I said, “Do you care if I bring my kitty in?” She thought that was so funny, haha. Post mistress did too.
I an getting good reports about the babies. It was a very quiet week without them, but they are doing what they should be doing, making their families VERY HAPPY!

I hope Nicole has babies!!

If I had to guess if Nicole had babies I would say yes based on her appetite! She’s usually a picky eater so eating everything in site is a good sign. Won’t see a babies bump for another week or so. Francis is harder to tell, she loves to eat so that is no indicator. She did throw up this morning (yes they get morning sickness) but we were a day early on the breeding so I’m nervous about success (I’m always nervous about success since I’m so disappointed if we don’t get babies). Having said that I can’t remember the last time we didn’t get babies so I should relax :)
Beau still has golden doodle babies available, they have his phantom coloring. Very RARE! CLICK HERE to go to Joann’s website to see the babies.

Lily Loo Pearl

A sad day I hate to remember (3:05pm) my Lily left me after a painful battle with breast cancer. I remember it like it was yesterday, the pain of her loss hardly dulled after six years. I thought I would never stop crying, my eyes constantly seeping. I went to get Lily as a surprise for Billy. They had two cream females and I was sitting on the floor watching all the pups play (males in the mix too). Lily wouldn’t leave my lap. I really liked the face of the other female pup but she kept running off and I couldn’t see her very well. I’d take Lily off my lap and chase down the other pup and Lily would return to my lap as soon as I sat back down. Finally an 8 year old girl said to me “you know, that puppy has picked you” OMG I said you’re right! Why would I even consider anyone else?? So began our love affair (poor Billy another dog that preferred mom). What ever it was about that dog, our hearts are bonded forever, in a special way impossible to describe. I love love love all my dogs, each and every one. But my Lily loved ME different. I enjoyed every day we had together, I miss her. After months of a broken heart I was led to Checkers and Jazz in need of a real home, they were BREEDING STOCK kept outside, not loved, not pets. My intention was to get them fixed and home them together (sisters) as I already had 7 dogs. We went to Ohio to get them, they were a mess nails growing under toward their pads, ears impacted with rock hard hair, coat one big mat with straw intertwined, splay feet with so much hair between toes. Checkers was terrified of the men. I got them cleaned up, and they were beautiful and so happy!! Under all that hair was a BIG SURPRISE! Checkers was built like Lily, same face as Lily, WAGGED like Lily!! With tears in my eyes I said “Look Tom, she looks just like Lily, even wags like her”. Slowly his chin reached his chest in defeat, he knew with a Lily wag I could not part with those girls. I am so glad I have them, they have been so grateful to have a loved life!! If you can SAVE somebody do it!! Everybody deserves a second chance!!

Lily tolerated dress up but did not enjoy it.

Sonny/Cash 5 months old!!

Look at Lexie and Jack’s little cutie!, his color is really coming out! He’s a happy boy!! Cash attends the monthly Poodle Palooza’s in Dallas and has made friends with the other Pampered Poodles that live there! Hi Barb,
Just wanted to let you know that Cash had a fancy haircut today and he feels very elegant. Notice his trademark tail straight in the air. Cash is doing great. He is 5 months old now and really enjoys his life here in Dallas. He still misses you and all his siblings but he has Henri and Franklin to hang around with. Lucky puppy!
Indeed he is!! As all our babies are! We insist upon it :)
Poppy is back to her old self, beating up Beau. I love to watch them romp! Reba’s leg is healing pretty slow, but then she will be 11 in December. I don’t care how long it takes as long as it is fully recovered.

Fun on a nice day!

Ronald/Lief and his new people

I love the look on Ronald/Leif’s face. This is my family and I’m going to protect them! Here is an update from his happy family! Dear Barb,
We love the wonderful poodle you raised for us. Thank you. We named him Lief (meaning Lion in Russian and Heart in Hebrew).
He already knows his name, knows how to “go outside”, knows how to “get busy” once he is outside, and knows to voluntarily “come on” on his leash.
He is, unfortunately, having a bit of a hard time with “Crate” J L
We will certainly stay in regular touch and promise to love him always.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you !!!!
A question: We noticed that he’s been doing a bit of biting/ itching, mostly at his neck area. We assume that this is not being used to his collar, but are a bit paranoid that it may be fleas. Any reason for concern?
You know you must be a wonderful person to have raised such a loving dog, and look forward to hearing from you.

Alex and Lilly
And NO he doesn’t have fleas, his new collar is wider that the one he had here and it’s bothering him :)
Poppy and I had a quiet (boring) day, no puppy kisses. I did get a wonderful/teary update from Daphne/Lucy’s mom that made me feel better/worse :)
Hi Barb!
Just a quick line to share that Lucy is just doing great. We’ve given her lots of lovin’ and many adventures already – played with neighborhood dogs, spent the weekend at the cottage, visited the big lake (she is a digger! She liked the sand more than the water) and is pretty well adjusted to the crate. She already knows her name, and “sit, shake”.
I have to tell you now that when we left your place, she crawled up my body to look out the window behind her. Unbelievable. She cried for a while until we were out on the main road. We just let her watch and fuss, it was so sad! But I have learned they recover so quickly and are so eager to bond with their new pack.
But when she gives her separation cry, she sounds like a sea lion on the rocks! I have never heard a dog make that noise! No panic, just this mournful howl! She is very vocal and talks to us, hysterical.
Thanks again for giving her such a great start! She’s perfect for us.

Just like grandma I like MONEY!!

A few years ago I had $100 bill on the counter with a long grocery list, it was around Christmas and the list was huge. I found the list on the floor and remembered being thankful no one had eaten it as I would have never remembered all the needed items written on there. Going about my business I dismissed the incident until an hour later when I eyes BULGED remembering the $100 bill I hadn’t seen with the list. I raced back to the scene of the crime hoping I’d missed it on the floor, with no such luck! Checkers was the only dog inside at the time and a NOTORIOUS paper lover so by process of elimination I had found the culprit!! There she stood with those adorable sweet eyes wagging briskly hoping to get a few private minutes of lovin :) and I am frankly staring at her in a state of disbelief! So I had to laugh when I saw the photo of grand daughter Samantha so PROUD of herself with her money! And her guilty little accomplice!! So funny!!! Poppy and I have a lot of free time. Yesterday we washed toys and bedding, I sure miss my puppy kisses :’(

Checkers 8 years old

Today my special girl is eight. It’s hard for me to believe she and Jazz have been with us 6 years. I bought Checkers and Jazz from a breeder in Ohio (not at a bargain price either). They were kept outside and in dire need of grooming. The ladies mixed dozens of breeds and found that unlike other breeds poodles were a lot of trouble to keep up. Lucky for the girls and lucky for me! I’m so glad I could give them a home where they are loved and appreciated. They are happy girls, they love their life! The boat, the water, swimming, the car all of it! If you can do rescue, do it! It has some challenges because of what may have happened to them, but they deserve to be loved and they truly appreciate it.
I was worried that Poppy would be sad today with the puppies gone but she’s fine. Back to her old self beating Beau up!!

Fun with Jessica/Sadie's sock

Jessica/ Sadie’s mom sent a sock that smelled like them, and did those pups ever have a good time with it! It was stretchy so it made an excellent pull toy. So fun to see them play! We are almost ready to head to the airport to meet the three new families (three hour drive) Poppy is in the big yard playing with the pups, so many mixed feeling :’( I’m AM THRILLED with the people that have found us and will be loving our babies for their entire lives, but I’m so sad we won’t have them. HOPEFULLY I will be enjoying new little darlings early November!

Fun with the SOCK!

Wilma/Stella and brother Ozzie

So nice to hear how the babies are adapting to their new lives!!
Stella has settled in and Ozzie has accepted her with open arms – not enough to snuggle, but he keeps getting closer. She’s a doll, has learned to stop whatever she’s doing when she hears “no”, and slept in until 7:30 this morning with only one trip outside during the night. Couldn’t ask for a better pup!!!! Ann arrived safely in British Columbia. She was fine (WE WERE CLEARLY MORE UPSET THAN SHE WAS). She fell in love with her new mom and her fleece slippers. I’ll be puppyless tomorrow. Poor Poppy, hope she forgives me :’(

PLAYING WITH THE KIDS!

I’m wondering how Poppy is going to be Saturday when we head to Detroit with her last three babies. I wish Harlee was going to be here, but she is not. Tom and Bill are the overnight pet sitters. While I was giving Ann a bath Poppy was barking at me, she knows the kids vanish after a bath. She has been such a good mom. It is the natural progression that they leave mom and I’m sure she knows and accept that fact. Poppy isn’t feeding them much, just a little in the morning. She is playing more with her buddy Beau, so she’ll be fine. She and Reggie will have more wonderful babies next year.
Ann will finish her trip to Canada this morning, a horrible trip for her but one in Heather’s arms she will have a pampered loved life. What IDIOTIC rules the airlines/government has! It seems they can’t tell the difference between an animal and a ticking package and need four hours to figure it out! So Ann had to be at the airport at 11:15 for a 3:15 flight and since it was so late in the day she had to be kenneled overnight to finish her trip this morning. Poor little princess. The boarding facility is on the airport grounds it is a grooming/boarding/spa they assured us she would be well cared for, their website looked very nice. I’ll relax when I hear from Heather.

Beau's doodle baby

Beau sure makes cute babies!! This babies is more poodley that the baby girl below. It is amazing (like with people too I guess) how some babies favor the mom, some the dad! Some people are very judgmental about mixing breeds HOWEVER I see doodles as a compromise. The woman wants a non shedding dog, the guy can’t go to work and say they got a POODLE!! 1/2 a poodle is better than no poodle!! If you know somebody looking for a loving, happy baby pass JoAnn’s website along so these babies can start their new lives!

Ariel's new BOY!!

Always a stressful day but thankfully Ariel arrived in Idaho Falls no worse for wear!! She loves her new kids and will be a happy girl!! As hard as it is to part with them, photo’s like these make it all worth wile. She will provide her people with endless love and smiles! Ann goes home tomorrow. Ronald, Jessica and Pebbles Saturday. The long wait begins to see if Nicole and Francis have babies for us. Three weeks before they show. Sometimes there are other signs, sometimes not.
Kisses for my new girl!

September 12, 2011 Intro to Yogurt

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

Our first taste of yogurt!

I love giving the babies something new, they are so excited. The yogurt container was almost empty so I took a spoon and gave them a taste. They loved it. Ann DID not want to share lol, she crammed her entire head in that container and licked it sparkling clean. Everybody has a crusty face and topknot :)
Ariel, Wilma and I got up at 2:45 am and headed to Lansing. It’s a 2 hour drive and Ariel’s flight was at 6am so we had to be there at 5am. The girls were so good on the car ride. After we got Ariel off to Idaho Falls. Wilma and I took a little nap waiting for her family at 6:30 she too had a long day ahead, a drive to Virginia.

Wilma and Ariel

My pretty girls are going off to start their new lives. How I will miss them!! They are so funny. JUST adorable (I know I say that about everybody!) They both have a long day ahead. Ariel flying to Idaho falls and Wilma/Stella driving to Virginia. We are getting up at 2:45am to head to the Lansing airport. Poppy is starting to correct them for trying to nurse, which is good, it will make it easier on her when they leave thinking her work is over. This is the hardest part, but knowing they are going to have wonderful spoiled lives makes handing them over possible.

September 10, 2011 Goodbye to Daphne Lucille AKA Lucy!

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Off to my new life!

Goodbye pretty girl! She off to mend a broken heart!! VERY important work!!
Daphne had kisses for her new mom and dad and they CLEARLY loved her already!! She will be a very pampered princess! JUST LIKE WE LIKE (insist upon) :)
We had a busy day. Two hours of crate training (marked improvement) followed by playing upstairs with Reba, Parris, Jazz and Patti Sue. Daphne had a bath and went home. Everybody had a car ride to the vet for health certificates, and fun in the grass! Such good babies they take everything in stride (except maybe the crates). Boo Hoo I’ll be puppyless in one week :’(

What! Another car ride??

All star line up!!

I went out to feed the swans and had an audience! These faces are so beautiful!! These babies are so wonderful!! They pulled the string out of the hood of my sweatshirt and had so much fun with tug of war!! So fun to see them play!! Darling Daphne/Lucy starts her new life today. I will miss that happy bouncy girl!! She will LOVE being the center of attention!! The first baby to leave is always hard (all are hard) the last baby is worse :’( I hope we have new babies in progress, the waiting to find out is painful! Off to the vet this afternoon for health certificates so everybody can fly!!

Happy 5th birthday WASHINGTON/Fozzie!!

Five years old already!! Washinton/Fozzie is a Checkers and Ruben baby with a litter STATES THEME!! Happy birthday to Fozzie and his siblings (yesterday) Indiana/Ivan, Montana/Jake, Wyoming/Booger, Georgia/Mia, Carolina/Ella and Virginia/Emma!! Fozzie sure looks like his mother!! Acts like her too! So loyal and loving!! Crate traing is progressing and they are doing well in pairs. NOW I need to get them used to being alone, not so easy. Ann and Ariel spent 2 hours alone in the crate today. Ariel did very well. Ann had a melt down, she did settle down the last 20 minutes. She has a LONG trip so she has earned herself more time in the crate :’( Poo baby! Vet appointment tomorrow for flight certificates! They are so adorable, so sweet. We are really going to miss them. My time with them is so short.

Luau/Lucy 2 years old

Nicole and Jack’s pretty girl!! Luau/Lucy!! She looks so much like her mom!!
I love seeing our babies grown up!! Poppy’s babies are so darn cute!! Yesterday’s crate training went very well, they were in an hour and all slept (I thought wow that was easy). Today not so good, all five have howled for 20 minutes (so far). Reminds me of the twins, when Chase cries Max cries in sympathy. Poppy keeps pawing me :) and pleads with those beautiful dark eyes. Some have LONG trips and they really need to be comfortable in there. So, we will keep working on it, by the end of the week they’ll be fine. Elliot is back home with his kids. I loved his visit, what a GOOD BOY!!

Nicole and Elliot!

Our handsome Elliot joins the ranks of our fabulous studmuffins! What a wonderful guy he is, I sure have missed him. He was so happy to see me he almost knocked me down (more than once). He cried when we turned on to our road. He’s been with his new family about a year but knew where he was going and everybody here. He is just so sweet (all Jazz babies are!). He goes home today, back to his four kids that weren’t that happy to have him gone. I’m so excited about the colors we could get, but expect black and white. I’m looking forward to having these heats over! The boys howl at all hours and I hate having them in crates :(
Crate training went much better, every time will get better, not too much yipping PROGRESS!

Babies hopefully November 6th

September 5, 2011 Cinco & PJ/Henri turn TWO!

Monday, September 5th, 2011

CINCO two years old

Nicole and Jack’s babies turn TWO!! What wonderful babies they have!! But then, I say that about ALL our babies :)
Elliot will be here this afternoon for Nicole’s last litter. Elliot’s dad is a red and white parti and looking at Nicole’s pedigree she too has red and white!! I would have to keep a red and white parti GIRL come hook or crook, maybe Tom won’t notice haha. More crate training…sigh.

Happy birthday to her siblings FIESTA, Gala/Spooky, Luau/Lucy, Cinco, PJ/Henri, Jamboree/Aspen AND Marti Gras/Magic. HOPEFULLY Nicole will have one more litter with Elliot (due Novemer 6-7?) All’s well here, we started crate training (not my favorite but necessary) it will get better as the week progresses. Babies get cuter by the minute and LOVED meeting Carolyn and JoANN!

We love company!!

Hair pullers!!

The puppy socializer isn’t fond of sharp little needle teeth (“I’m no fan of their new teeth” she reminds me) in an effort to get a big mouthful of hair they also manage to get some skin. At almost seven years old, she takes it much better than she did. Can’t blame her, it hurts while they are learning what’s biting too hard. They are potty trained here, they shoot out their little dog door every time. It should be easy to make the conversion to their new home. I sure hope we get brown babies, we may not. The artificial insemination was a day early (vet closed until Tuesday) Francis will have NO PART of natural breeding so this one breeding will be all we get. It may be enough, you never know :( If a success babies will be due November 3rd.
Monday I go get Elliot for Nicole’s last litter!

YIKES got my butt pinched!

September 2, 2011 JACK visit!!

JACK'S HERE!!

WELL HOPEFULLY we will get Francis Claire and Jack babies around November 3rd!! I hope so, we already have some deposits!! We were VERY happy with the last litter of TOY STORY babies! So SWEET, such characters! We don’t keep our visiting boys long, their families want them back and my boys are not happy to have different boys here (those are their girls). Babies are full of the dickens, so silly! I already dread the departure days, that are not far off :’(

Francine Sniffabottom

HAHA I love the “REGGIE” look on Franklin’s face. Here’s what Jay said about his boy! Hi Barb,
I thought you would appreciate this… my cousin’s children came over Tuesday night and decided to play dress up with Franklin… they renamed him Francine for the evening… that should give you an idea of what kind of dress up they were playing! Anyway, I thought the photo we got of him was HILARIOUS and that you would appreciate it.
Have a great day!

Great grandma went to the vet with us.

Reba needed her cast checked so she went along with us to the vet. The babies did great in the car, nobody got sick and nobody seemed terribly bothered about the trip. They got rave reviews from the vet, they can never believe how sweet and calm they are. Not scared, just wondering what these people are doing. WONDERFUL BABIES!!!

LOL I love to see Patti and the babies, she has been very nervous knowing Poppy does not want her with them. Poppy is on the deck above WATCHING. The babies love to see her and it is so good for them to be around other dogs. Patti cleans them in spite of any objections :D
Vet visit tonight for shots check ups and 3rd worming. Jack will be here Thursday for Francis Claire babies (hopefully) Elliot Monday for Nicole babies (hopefully)!! Will be fun to see the boys again!!

Beau's Golden Doodle baby!!

OMG THAT FACE!! We don’t contribute to other babies very often, I’m pretty picky about how the adults and babies are treated. Many people who call us have not had any testing done and often their girl is a barely a year old. Where as I know they will find someone with a male who doesn’t care about those things, I’m PROUD to say it won’t be me. Beau and Bailey have had babies before and they are adorable calm, loving pets. JoAnn has a website you can see more pictures of the available pups (ready for new homes)! CLICK HERE Her phone number is 231.519.2463 Howard City Michigan
Our babies get shots and check ups tomorrow. Reba going too, for a look at her leg. I don’t know if she’ll get her cast off, might be another month :( Poor princess.

Hermes/Phoenix Citori and Beau's sable phantom boy!

The first sable puppy we had, we had no idea sables completely change!! They are born dark but all new hair comes in light!! SO FUN!! We were SO SURPRISED!! Since then we have had several, all a bit different from the others. The photo with Harlee below is baby Hermes/Phoenix!! Wow, you’d never guess it was the same pup!! Like a box of chocolates!! Never know what you’re going to get!!Everybody is doing great, I can’t believe Poppy’s babies will be 6 weeks old tomorrow!! Suddenly they are tiny terrors!! Everybody off in a different direction JUST ADORABLE!! Poppy did get to swim yesterday, the afternoon was finally warm enough for a swim behind the kayak and a game of red ball. I’m going to miss our summer fun, but I really do like the change of seasons. We’ll have to think of of something fun for winter (I’m not a big fan of the cold!) thinking of cross country ski’s but my initial thought is too much work haha!! BABY Hermes and Harlee!

Ankle biters!!

The babies are really trying out those new teeth!! Sometimes they bite too hard but it is usually just gentle gnawing, add that to the drama of a six year old and you have a cute photo! These babies couldn’t be cuter! Here is a “pupdate” from our FRENCHIE/Lexie’s mom (Lexie & Jack baby)! Hi Barb! We just came from seeing our vet for Lexie’s last puppy vaccinations, and this time we saw one of the other vets, and when she saw Lexie she said that she had never seen such a beautiful standard poodle!!! She went on and on about how beautiful and unusual her markings are. She also wondered where we found such a beautiful dog!! So I let her know exactly where she could find a wonderful puppy just like we have!!! Every time we have taken Lexie for her exams, the office staff all have to come in to say hi to her and get their kisses!! Oh, and the vet also thinks that Lexie is going to be a pretty big girl!! She was surprised to see that she is only a little over 4 months old!! She weighs a little over 36 pounds now. Just thought you might get a kick out of this. I will try to post some more pictures soon. Take care!!! Carol Roberts :) WE LOVE THESE PUPDATES!!

Not a snarl a HAPPY FRANKIE smile!

If you didn’t know that both Lexie and Jack smile you would not know that Frankie is a happy boy!! He really has been SO good with the babies. AND it has been so good for the babies to get roughed up a little bit! They do not fear older dogs because they have been exposed to so many! The babies are doing great! Peeing and pooping outside, using the dog door, eating dry food!! I can’t believe they will be heading home in just a couple more weeks :’(

The babies love Frankie!

Is this our favorite HANK OF HAIR??

I’m so happy when I get a cute picture like this one! but then I have such adorable SUBJECTS!! Babies have the puppy door all figured out, they go in and out at will. SO SMART! Mostly they potty outside, another week and they’ll be pro’s!! eating dry food, playing, barking they are happy kids!! They seem to enjoy having Frankie, if he gets too rough they hide in the morning glories (unsuccessfully) he KNOWS when he gone too far and when he gets scolded he displays a big smile (just like dad Jack). What a cutie he is!! Fun to have him back!

Gee that looks good

Frankie meeting the puppies

Our baby Frankie (Lexie and Jack baby) is here for the week while his family is on vacation. He LOVES the babies but plays a little rough (Poppy and I are working on that). He suddenly tucks his tail and runs full speed around the baby yard causing panic :0 he’s a happy guy! Ariel made it clear she didn’t like how he plays and he looked at her with a “what’s wrong with you” expression (so his dad) FUNNY! He likes the big dogs, Francis will play with him but freaks him out when she chases him. This will all work itself out in the next day or so. Babies can all come IN doggy door but won’t all go out yet. For five weeks they are doing really well! They had their second haircut which included front feet. Those FACES ARE ADORABLE!!!

Ariel making it clear she won't be manhandled :D

Poodle lovers of Dallas gather!!

I think this is the third month the Dallas folks have gotten together at the dog park with their PAMPERED POODLES!! New this time was Margaret with our Apollo/Eiffel and her Oliver (white). Franklin and Rex/Slick were there to join in the fun! Everything going well here. Reba is still clumping around with her cast (2 more weeks at least). Babies are doing great on dry food. And Poppy wanted to sleep upstairs last night, first time she last left here babies! I hope she adjusts to them going off to new homes :( FRANKIE comes today for a weeks visit, his family is going on vacation, can’t wait to see him!!!!

Uncle ANDY! Poppy's littermate!

No it’s not Poppy Lucille, it’s her brother ANDY!! I can’t believe how much they look alike!! Our baby Ann will be joining Andy in just a few short weeks!! I can’t believe how fast these weeks are flying by!! They are getting the hang of the puppy door and can come in, they are so proud of themselves! They love the morning glories (especially Wilma) and seems to enjoy getting tangled up in them. So darn cute! Such little love bugs!! Who could resist those faces??

Lexie & Jack's baby ROCKET/Bode

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BOY!! His color is fabulous, so many speckles!! I bet Pat gets a lot of people telling her HE IS NOT a poodle (gotta love that). Here’s an update on her guy: Good Morning Barb,
I wanted to send you an updated photo of Bode. We are back at York Beach in Maine and he loves the morning run on the beach. Dogs are allowed to run free from sunrise to 8am and he makes the most of it.
We are going to try agility in September. Hoping he takes to it.
Loving Bode more every day. I love to keep checking on your site at your latest litters and their pictures.
Pat & Bode
Bode will love agility, no doubt about it!! Babies got new toys and had so much fun, except with this one maybe? Wonder if it tasted bad?? :D

Ronald: Hey a new toy! Ann: ICK! It tastes awful!!

August 18, 2011 The FAVORITE TOY!

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Our favorite "hank of hair"

Terry brought this “hank of hair” in a bag of toys and the babies LOVE IT!! They growl at it, shake it and when it’s dead they carry it off to their lair. ADORABLE! It was out in the rain last night and they still haul it around. They got two new squeak toys too (noise is good for them) mom squeaks and squeaks and tosses it up in the air. That has stopped freaking them out, now things that drop on them has no effect :) I gave them dry food last night and they seemed to like that better than goo (okay with me) they are fat healthy kids! So happy and affectionate. Full of kisses! They met Parris and Nicole yesterday and had a short visit from Patti Sue. Patti Seems to know Poppy wouldn’t approve and seems nervous, she doesn’t stay long (licks really fast haha).

What a good mom, she loves her babies and enjoys being with them. Teeth are coming in, so that could change quick :0 Harlee has been hard at work socializing, a job she takes very seriously. If somebody doesn’t like being on their back, she works with them until they do. The babies really bond with kids because of her. The babies wander out the puppy door and pee but not on purpose that will come in the next week. They really are not thrilled with the goo, can take it or leave it which is something that has not happened before. They are not hungry, Poppy must have SUPER milk!!

COOPER

OUR COOPER! He’s a Parris & Beau baby (car litter) he’s lives in Arizona and is so spoiled (just like we like) he is the apple of his dad’s eye! Another baby ADORED by her dad is our Vera/Suki (Parris & Reggie)!! No mistaking the look of adoration on her dad’s face! Warms my heart, I can’t turn my babies over to just anybody-I have to be sure they will be loved, I owe it to their parents who entrusted them to me! My friend Judy called me last night, she rescued a 3 year old apricot poodle that had been banished to outdoors. Poor thing how can people do that?? She is terrified of men. I’m so glad Judy found her, she will have a happy loved life, finally!! Everybody here doing great!

Jamie and the babies

Jamie lovin up the babies once more before she heads back to Ohio. Jamie has dad Reggie, a great guy with LOADS of personality. I’ve never seen a dog that LOVED toys like he does. He is so funny, easy going and affectionate! He makes wonderful babies!! Harlee continues to socialize the babies, they love her and love being held. They love outside and are going out the puppy door by themselves!! SO SMART! Reba had a check up for her cast, vet wanted to make sure it was still protecting her leg. She’s good for another 2 weeks but she may need the cast a second month. Poor baby, she’s taking it well.

Marjorie and Jamie

As you can see Poppy wasn’t thrilled with our company but tolerated the man handling of her babies as best she could. She did give both Jamie and Marjorie gentle nips when they reached for babies in the puppy bed (red pinch mark) setting the guidelines of what they had permission to do. She is a VERY good mom! Terry (George’s mom) brought her 3 year old grand daughter to see the babies and she could do what ever she wanted to the pups. POPPY LOVES LITTLE GIRLS! Somehow poodles and kids are on the same page :) First hair cuts went well, they are SO CUTE!!!!! More puppy love today, Harlee is here!!

I have to tolerate this.

Sandy's second haircut!

OMG Look at our Sandy who looked like a baby German shepard just a few weeks ago! I just love the SABLES and how they change from haircut to haircut!! So fun! She’s a happy girl! Today we begin our PUP OVER a girls weekend with nothing but poodles on the agenda. New people is essential to puppy confidence, the more people they see and the more new situations they confront the more confident they are, course the new family HAS to continue the GREAT start we gave them but it’s easy :) First haircuts today!!

Our first trip outside!

Yesterday was a big day for the babies, two trips outside! Bigger pen and Patti Sue visit! We’ll go outside several times today and Harlee will be here later too. They will be more comfortable with every trip outdoors. I’ll put the doggy door in when they decide they like it out there and WANT to go out. They are eating good and using papers better every day! Happy babies! PUPOVER this weekend. Jamie (Reggie’s mom) is coming from Ohio and Marjorie (Annie/Rigby & Kalvin’s mom) is coming from Detroit to play with puppies!! I hope it doesn’t RAIN we want to be outside!

Patti meets the babies!

Patti Sue is always a happy girl but EXTRA happy when she can clean puppies, ANYBODY’S puppies!! Since I let her see them she STARES at me. I put Poppy outside so she wouldn’t get upset. Harlee is on her way home from vacation in Texas. She’ll be here tomorrow afternoon to see the babies! They were outside today a couple times. The girls cried and Ron HOWLED. So darn cute!!

Can we go swimming??

I swear these dogs can TELL TIME!! At 5pm they start begging to swim! We always do something after work. Either a swim or pontoon ride. Who can resist these eyes?? Babies are doing great. I let Patti Sue see them today while Poppy was outside. She was SO HAPPY!! Kinda cold today so we didn’t go outside, tomorrow I think, they are walking good and will like the change of scenery I think. SO CUTE!!

Look at these little BUTTERBALLS!! Ronald 4.69, Daphne 4.26, Wilma 4.22, Pebbles 4.21, Ariel 3.72, Jessica 3.52, Ann 3.38! Nice big babies!! Poppy has WONDERFUL milk, they really are not very hungry! I still feed them, this is the first step toward going home. They are making it out to the papers more often, more often to poop (yeah). If it warms up, we’ll make our first trip outside! Harlee went to the capital building in Austin yesterday and today off to the “grassy knoll” she’s having a great time on vacation!!

Lap dogs in training!!

August 8, 2011 MORE WATER DOGS!!

Monday, August 8th, 2011

COME ON Edison, play with us!

It is so much fun to see the dogs enjoying the water!! Eugene/Edison (like brother Kenicki/Rowlf) LOVES the water! Cassanova/Roman (Francis/Claire & Beau baby) is trying to engage him in play while Aiden/Oliver (Patti Sue & Ruben) waits for his answer :D Missing from the upper photo is our Molly/Zara, Patti Sue and Ruben’s silver girl! These four have so much fun together!! LaRue has Roman and Oliver and her daughter Nedra has Edison and Zara, so they play often on the Lake Michigan shoreline in Wisconsin!!! Poppy and her babies doing great!! Reba about the same :( I’m spending the afternoon in Lansing vising my twin baby boys, can’t wait to see them, they change so much in a couple of weeks!!

We're a mess but we had SO MUCH FUN!!

VERY ANNOYED POODLES

Not being able to see the kids prompts DIRTY LOOKS aka STINK EYE from Citori and Izzie. Clearly they are not happy with the kid corral, but with crawling babies it is necessary to contain them (the babies). The poodles LOVE their babies, just the best breed for kids!! Our puppy socializer, Harlee is at a Dallas water park today and having such a good time! She loved the fight, especially the fluffy clouds (I had told her about them). Loved landing and taking off. We miss her, she will be so surprised at how much the babies have changed when she gets back!! Babies are eating pretty good, they really aren’t hungry so don’t really dive right in.

August 6, 2011 Intro to GOO!

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

What's in this?

From the expression on Pebbles face, you can see that the GOO was a big hit! They did like it and did very well actually, Daphne stood in the bowl it seems to taste better if you stand in it. After they ate, they cleaned each other up with help from me and mom. They are so cute, I can’t stand it!! I am taking SO MANY pictures, holy cow!! They are walking pretty good and often make it to the papers! Such cuddlers!! JUST ADORABLE!!!!!

Time for goo, tomorrow I think. Poppy must have REALLY good milk because they never act hungry! I hope these are NEAT babies :0 Harlee just called she is so excited about her first plane ride! She said she kept saying COOL, because it was SO COOL!! LOL 107 in Dallas good thing they have plans for 2 days at the water park!!

Ariel and Harlee

An essential part of puppy development is being handled from day one. Our babies are loved every minute of their lives, they know it and it builds confidence (just like human babies). Harlee gets the babies used to kids and she loves her job. For the first time ever she doesn’t have a favorite baby :) She typically favors the pup with the pink collar, but she said these are Poppy’s babies, she can’t have a favorite. She must be growing up? They were introduced to newspapers today, legs are still a bit wobbly but getting stronger every day!!
Reba is hobbling around on her cast, seems to be doing fine. I keep watching for a sore where the cast rubs but so far seems fine. Poor girl, must be hot :(

Still waiting for Nicole and Francis to start heat. Both are a month late :( I was glad it rained a couple days, doesn’t hurt to let those ears dry out. I use the purple ear stuff every couple days but still keep a close eyes on them.

Wilma is VERY comfortable being held.

Harlee enjoyed her visit with the babies yesterday! And they love seeing her. They climb up in her lap and want their head on her feet when they sleep. So precious! These babies are LOVE BUGS!! Poppy wants Harlee to pay attention to her and does her best to work her way in :) In the morning Poppy greets us with a BIG SMILE!! She is so funny!! Such a good MOM!!

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

Reba's look for the next month :(

My poor princess, her cast doesn’t seem to slow her down much. My worry is how it will heal. I sure don’t want that leg to hurt her for the rest of her life. At nine I expect to enjoy her for many years to come. She sleeps as close as she can get to me all night (sometimes Nicole gets there first) my baby. This dog is a delight, I can’t think of days without her (without any of them). The babies are getting so big! Ronald is so Reggie, he hangs limp when I hold him and talk to him sizing me up with those little black eyes. So cute!! They are playing, walking, barking SO MUCH has changed in just a couple days!! AMAZING!! Ronald 3.3, Pebbles 2.95, Daphne 2.75, Wilma 2.66, Ariel 2.45, Ann 2.30 and Jessica 2.25 !!

PEEPERS!!!

Everybody has their eyes open!! One of my very favorite puppy stages. They are so cuddly. Sometime they are a little scared when their eyes open (understandably so) but not these kids, they snuggle right in. It was hot yesterday!! We always swim at least twice. 20 minutes of ball (depending on barking) and 15 minutes of swimming behind the kayak. They love both! My precious Reba will be sitting out the rest of the summer, she’s at the vet and is getting a walking cast. She tore tendons in her leg (our wrist) racing down to the dock :’( She’s nine, I hope she heals okay. My baby, I’m worried!

Shrek/Fergus and mom Patti Sue!

We love seeing our babies! It’s so sweet to see the mom’s and their babies althought it isn’t the reunion humans have, just an acknowledgement and that’s pretty much it. It’s a good thing I guess as the mom’s would be miserable missing all their rehomed kids :’( All my little redheads have their eyes open. SO DARN CUTE!! It’s hard to leave them alone and let them sleep :D They are using those little legs and starting to sit up, they get stronger every day. Unbelievable how they change in just 12 days!! Another nice day, we’ll be playing in the lake!!

She is leaving the babies for longer periods of time and spends time upstairs with us. DOG PARK TOMORROW! Harlee broke Mindy’s glasses so they can’t go :’( It’s a long drive alone but worth the trip! Poppy back in the water!

It wasn’t as hot yesterday but still we had fun in the water. Poppy joined us for a game of Jolly Ball, she was so excited to be back in the mix. She has spent the entire last week with her babies barely moving. She won’t get to go to the dog park either, she has to babysit :) That Ronald is a HOOT! Can that baby eat! I go down ever 75-90 minutes to see them and little stinker is eating, the baby girls are sleeping, he’s eating!! He’s going to need his strength with all those sisters! They are the nicest colors!! The camera doesn’t do them justice! So fun having babies again!!

Happy girl!!

Nicole enjoying the breeze!

The dogs love a pontoon rides as much as they like swimming! They certainly enjoy summer!! We all do! I love it that they are so happy :) I’m still waiting for Nicole and Francis to go into season. Both are late and will undoubtedly cycle together. This will be Nicole’s last litter, I still plan on using Elliot for black and white parti babies. Second litter for Francis Claire and Jack. The Poppy babies are SO CUTE! It’s been a long time since we’ve had an entire litter of red babies and I DO love the color (I love all colors!)!! Patti Sue would LOVE to see them, but Poppy would have a HUGE FIT! She’ll have to wait a couple weeks. She’ll have her own babies at the end of the year!
