Harlee meets HUGO

Harlee meets HUGO

More memories :)
Hugo has a new home. Susan is so excited about her new boy!! She loves that she can be a part of his early life with us. He’ll be off to Virginia in six and 1/2 weeks. It’s a good thing he was picked early. Trisha really wanted to keep him (and that’s hard!) Now she knows he has a new momma and thoughts of keeping him are a waste of energy :(
ANOTHER WONDERFUL UPDATE ON KUDOS/Nicholas I love hearing about how easy that settle in to their new home, she is certainly NOT bugging me :) Who could get enough of hearing HOW FABULOUS OUR BABIES ARE?????
Barb,

I promise I won’t bug you every day with updates. But we are just so thrilled with him! You were right about him meeting Parker, our Shepherd. Kudos LOVED meeting Parker and having another dog around, and Parker loves it too! Kudos has completely opened up – he’s having a super time. I wish I had a video camera to capture the two of them playing – they are just having a ball. We need to let Parker have a rest now and then as he doesn’t have the same energy level, and then Kudos is looking all over for where his buddy went to! If I can keep up with them I’ll send you a few photos!

Kudos also enjoys watching college basketball and March Madness and was quite happy with the Northern Iowa win last night (since his new mommy went to Northern Iowa!)

Kudos in his new home in Georgia!

Kudos in his new home in Georgia!

Got a wonderful update on Kudos!! His new family is thrilled with him!! Here’s what his mom Carol said about his transition: Hi, Barb! Thought I’d send you a few early pictures – will get some later with Jim and me in the picture when we have someone to take it (Jim and our Shepherd, Parker, are at our property in the North Georgia mountains getting the garden going and fertilizing blueberry bushes! Next time Kudos will go and I think he’ll love it.)

We’re doing great. He was pretty shook up and shy last night – wanted lots of petting (which I’ll gladly give!); his favorite first spot was underneath the kitchen table where he could see everything going on but felt safe. We tried taking him to the backyard to go potty when we got home from the airport but there was lots of noise he wasn’t crazy about – people running lawnmowers, people gardening on either side of us and making some sudden noises. And of course everyone in the neighborhood wanted to meet him the minute we pulled him out of the truck. When we brought him in the house where we could control the sudden noises he did much much better. He did great last night – only one little whine at about 2:30am when he needed to take care of some business.

He’s much more relaxed today. We’ve seen the tail high in the air, he’s eating, he likes to trot back and forth between Jim and I to alternate petting. He’s really opening up today. Today, we’re mainly working on getting him comfortable with his new surroundings and getting him comfortable with the leash. He is not a fan of the leash, so am just hooking one on him and letting him walk around w/o me on the other end to help him know it’s nothing to be scared of. He’s also getting used to the backyard and all the noises – neighbor dogs, geese, ducks, lawnmowers, etc. We’ve been sitting calmly in the backyard – it’s an absolutely beautiful day here! Oh – and we’re still working on a name. We’re down to a handful that we’re trying out to see which one fits best. He has not yet met Parker or our cat – we’ll introduce the two dogs tonight.

Barb, thank you so much again for him. He is just so beautiful and sooo sweet. The first thing my best friend commented on were his sweet eyes! He is such a precious gift!

Hopefully these pics come thru – if not, let me know. I’m sending them from my Apple (love it for personal use) but sometimes I have to send them on my work laptop so they show up as file attachments.

Thanks!

Carol LOVE hearing these great reports and looking forward to photo’s and updates!! Got some wonderful photo’s of brother Nips/Domino too. Su-Yun and I work for the same company (she in New Jersey, I’m in Michigan) and we chat on and off all day via the inter-company chat called “Q” she is adding one of the black/tan phantom boys to her family (poor little Newdy the Yorkie is not much of a playmate for Domino) she will have a stunning trio!! She already gets lots of comments about her Domino! Harlee and I really enjoyed the day! Couple of hours with Trisha and the puppies and some shopping (today we bought her fuchsia sandals with big pink gems)! Today’s movie with the pups 10 days old CLICK HERE

New toy!

New toy!

Puppies remind me of kids when they have new toys, so fun to watch them :)
Kudos is on the plane to Georgia, there was some problem so he had to spend extra time in Detroit. I pick the flights with short delays for a reason! But I look at it as one horrible day to get on with a wonderful loved life. They seem to forget it as soon as it’s over! Cesar says they live in the moment.
My precious boy broke my heart, he was all checked and secure in the crate waiting for them to take him out back and I said “goodbye my prince” and he let out this little whine in response. Harlee (now 5 said “he said he’ll miss you” I left the airport with VERY watery eyes. As happy as I am that he’ll be joining a wonderful home, handing them over is painful (every pup, every time). I’ve told Trisha that if the day ever comes that it doesn’t bother me to part with them, then it’s time to quit. I don’t want to be one of those breeders.

After considering how long the day would be if we waited for Trisha to get home from work we decided to go back tomorrow to see the puppies. On the way home Harlee and I stopped at Walmart to purchase “Barbie potty training pups” (I gave in after 90 miles or so) I can’t believe this toy! You give the puppies water in this bottle and they pee on papers that turn YELLOW!! OMG! We had lunch at our favorite place Culvers :) Fun day with my sweet little grand daughter.

Locke 6 days old

Locke 6 days old

Omg this sweet little face. So precious!! It’s LOCKE our surprise cream baby boy! One week old already! All the babies are so plump and healthy, Izzie is a wonderful mom!!
I must say I hated FACEBOOK at first but now I love it!! We really enjoy the interaction with the fans and posting pictures. We love how people tell us they look forward to out pictures and since I take 300 a day. I love sharing them :)
Harlee and I will have a busy day tomorrow, we need to have Kudos at the Lansing airport at 10am for his trip to Georgia which means we need to leave here at 8am at least. Then we need to kill time until 5 when Trisha gets home from work (won’t be hard lots of stores & mall close to her house). Harlee LOVES shopping, girl has a thing for shoes (that’s how she picks her Polly Pockets- the shoes that are in the package) so funny at FIVE years old! We’ll take May and Fiesta. The boys will have to stay home with Tom.

Jeff and Ruben

Jeff and Ruben

I had a nice visit with Jeff yesterday. I met Jeff in 1993 when he took home one our black baby boys, Claude. He has always stayed in touch and in 2000 they added Bonnie to their family. Jeff, Cheryl and the poodles would stop by occasionally on their way to Kalkaska for a visit. Always fun to see them. When Claude passed, I was puppyless but had just found Nicole in Kalamazoo area and told them about her cream brother. They brought Parker home. Jeff enjoyed meeting Ruben, his Claude’s great, great, great nephew! AND Mayflower, Claude’s great, great, great, great, great NIECE!! (NO, it’s not easy to keep this straight). EIGHT generations is SO FUN!!
My Jazz ma TAZZ is back home, moving slow but fine. I was worried about her babies jumping on her, but they’re being so careful. They seem to know. I was trying to keep her separate but she was having NONE of that!! HAS to be here in the mix. She is happily chewing a rawhide with Kudos & Pez/Elliot laying next to her :)
Harlee and I are going to visit the new babies Friday or Saturday (depends on if we’re shipping someone). She will love seing babies that don’t bite :)
Everybody enjoying this weather!!

Pez/Elliot

Pez/Elliot

So many new things to discover now that the snow is gone. I can’t believe there is any junk in the yard left for them to EAT! Pine cones and needles, sticks, stones and leaves!! SO MUCH FUN!! Jazz is at the vet getting fixed, having her ears cleaned and nails done while she’s under. It’s SUCH a battle that this will save us both a lot of grief. Teeth too if she needs it. sore or not she’ll be happy to be back home (overnight UGH!) Got a WONDERFUL update on Toby/Elias! Jazz and Winston

Jazz and Winston

I love this picture :) It’s Jazz meeting Winston and the result of the rendezvous was our precious parti boys (and sister Cella)! Jazz gets “fixed” tomorrow and I can’t believe how sad/worried I am. She has to spend the night and she is going to HATE that. No more Jazz babies :(
Everybody is doing great. Lexie is getting a little baby belly. Izzie babies are getting so fat, we got such a nice mix of colors (lots of boys lately!). Mayflower is such a doll, the boys are playing kind of rough so I make sure I’m outside with her. Fiesta is losing her baby look, such a beautiful girl with a thick, thick coat!! FABULOUS!! The parti boys are going through that awkward stage. Huge feet, knobby knees and long legs so fun to watch them play!! Such good boys!
Fun, fun, fun!

Fun, fun, fun!

Mayflower (108) Fiesta (190 days old)

Mayflower (108) Fiesta (190 days old)

My BEAUTIFUL GIRLS!! Mayflower and Fiesta. AGH I dread the day they leave me! Toby finally made it to New York and his new family ADORES him (who wouldn’t). Victoria was so worried he’s be upset but as soon as they got him home he happily played with ALL HIS NEW TOYS, and chewed a chewy, she couldn’t believe it. She promised to send pictures :)
Tina sent me some pictures of the dog show (I assume Chicago) those poodles are so beautiful (so our ours!)! We don’t show and don’t care to. I find the politics at work all I can stand (yes I have a full time job with a large corporation), and I find show people are QUITE ARROGANT especially when it comes to parti and phantom poodles. They refer to them as sub-standard (no pun intended) when parti was the ORIGINAL colors.

The babies 3 days old

The babies 3 days old

My first trip to see the babies and they are ADORABLE!! That Hugo is so unique!! Locke BEAUTIFUL COLOR. THOSE black and tan boys are FABULOUS! The contrast is going to be striking just like their dad!! And naturally the phantom girls are fantastic (one girl has become available)! We made a movie so you could meet them CLICK HERE TO MEET THE BABIES Izzie is such a good mom :) Grandma Citori really wants to steal them. Harlee and I have a trip planned for next Saturday, she hasn’t loved tiny puppies in awhile.
Toby is off to New York although we had a snag. Due to a storm in at JFK airport all flights were canceled, so Toby was stuck in DETROIT. AT LEAST DELTA CALLED! Northwest NEVER did, you found out when the pup didn’t arrive!! Victoria is picking him up at Laguardia (SP) so he will get there, just a little later. Sounded like they were taking GOOD care of him, I’m IMPRESSED, I dreded flights with Northwest thet were a nightmare!

Grace and Niles

Grace and Niles

Grace is doing GREAT! Here’s what her mom said (Niles is a Maggie/Beau baby) Hi Barb,
Just thought I’d give you an update on my babies. Niles and Grace are getting along better. I think it was an adjustment for Niles. I think they actually like each other. They play all the time and Grace holds her own. Actually, I’m more concerned about Niles. He is allowing her a lot of space and she takes advantage of it. She is a really good dog and she’s getting bigger by the day. They are very smart together and Niles is teaching her all the tricks. When she initially cried in the crate when we put her to bed, he barked at her like he was yelling at her to go to sleep. He only needed to do this twice and she readily goes to sleep at night. Niles likes his bedtime and he wasn’t letting her interfere with that. Grace has learned to sit, lay down, and give her paw on command, as well as sits at the front door when she needs to go out. A few accidents, but generally doing well. Attached is a picture of them last night, when I had enough of their rough playing and told them to “stop”. They retreated and laid down together. I thought it was quite cute. They do like to be together all the time and Niles is patient when she drinks from his bowl. He just doesn’t like it when she takes his cheese ( his favorite thing). I’m glad we brought Grace home and Niles and her are becoming great friends. I guess I’m not use to the rough play. The only good thing is when Niles was a puppy, he use to bite us, now Grace has Niles to bite, so she doesn’t bother with us. Ha ha ….Thank you for such loving, beautiful puppies. We adore them every day!

LOVE THESE UPDATES!! and appreciate people taking time to send them :)
Toby is off to his new life tomorrow. We are always nervous about the flight but they get there safe and sound every time. This is a short flight (New York) and he doesn’t mind the crate so he’ll be fine. We send them with goodies (kong, juicy bones and or rawhide), blanket and toy that smells like us and frozen water. The boys will have to stay here, they trip is too long (2 hours to the airport) to take them and stop to see the new babies. I’m taking Fiesta and May (I can handle 2 not 6) Fiesta LOVES to go and I don’t like to leave May with the boys, sometimes they get to rough.
